HOW DO I TRAP A CAT?
Every scenario is a little different but this video covers most of the basics. If you have questions do not hesitate to contact us!
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Anyone can trap a cat! Community involvement in trapping is absolutely vital. While there are a handful of volunteers in San Diego who dedicate their free time to trapping, this is not nearly enough to put a dent in the issue. These trappers are stretched thin especially during kitten season. If you feed community cats or see them in your area, please consider trapping them yourself. It is easy to learn and costs you nothing but time (and maybe some tuna). We know it can be intimidating but we are here to help if you need any guidance. Know that you are making a huge impact and saving lives with every cat you trap!
WHERE DO I TAKE A CAT FOR SURGERY?
Any cat trapped within the jurisdiction of San Diego Humane Society can be brought there with no appointment necessary. They are open Tues-Sun. They will also accept kittens into their care. If you are not within their jurisdiction, you can schedule an appointment with the Feral Cat Coalition. Both organizations will provide TNR services (surgery, vaccines, flea treatment, ear tip) at no cost to you. You can also check if your local shelter provides TNR services.
